Dairyland to Purchase Power from New Wind Farm

Construction is complete on EDP Renewables’ Quilt Block Wind Farm located in Lafayette County, Wisconsin. Dairyland Power Cooperative has entered into a twenty-year agreement to purchase power from this project, and Dairyland estimates that this wind farm can power about 25,000 homes.

Dairyland Power Cooperative Partners with Minnesota Power on Natural Gas Power Plant Project

Dairyland Power Cooperative is partnering with another utility, Minnesota Power, to build a $700 million 550-megawatt natural gas power plant in Superior, Wisconsin. If approved by regulators, construction on the plant will commence in 2020 and plant operation is anticipated to be achieved by 2025.

Dairyland Purchasing 80 MW of Wind Energy

Effective February 15, 2017 Dairyland Power Cooperative (Dairyland) will begin purchasing 80 MW of renewable energy from the Barton Wind Farm.  The 80 MW of renewable energy purchased by Dairyland is enough to power more than 19,000 homes.

Dairyland Power Cooperative, located in La Crosse, Wisconsin, recently announced that it will begin purchasing energy from a 98 megawatt wind project located in southwestern Wisconsin. The project is owned by EDP Renewables North America. The project is currently working its way through the MISO generation interconnect process, and construction is set to begin in 2017.
