USDA Invests $2.5 Billion in Rural Electric Infrastructure

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is investing approximately $2.5 billion in rural electric infrastructure improvements to help create jobs and support economic development. The funding is to be provided in 27 states through the USDA Rural Development’s Electric Program, the successor to the Rural Electrification Administration.

Mecklenburg Electric Cooperative to Provide Broadband Access

(GridLiance) has completed an acquisition of Valley Electric Association, Inc.’s (VEA) 230kV transmission system and entered into an ongoing partnership with VEA for the operation and maintenance of the transmission system.
