Oregon Trail Electric Cooperative assisted the Baker Rural Fire Protection District to acquire $520,000 in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to acquire land and build a new fire station in Baker City, Oregon. The funding will save taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars and help mitigate the threat of wildfires.

This week Mississippi passed a bill allowing electrical cooperatives in the state to offer customers high-speed internet service.
