Louisiana PSC Approves Plan for Inter-State Cooperative Power Purchases
The Louisiana Public Service Commission (PSC) accepted a $1.5 billion plan for electric cooperatives to purchase power from utility companies in other states. Washington-St. Tammany Electric Cooperative and South Louisiana Electric Cooperative Association joined with Beauregard Electric Cooperative, Claiborne Electric Cooperative and Northeast Louisiana Power Cooperative are to form the 1803 Electric Cooperative Inc., which will handle the contract for new power.
