New Hampshire Cooperative Seeking FEMA Reimbursement
President Trump has granted a request for a major disaster declaration in Belknap County, New Hampshire and elsewhere for an October 29, 2017 – November 1, 2017 storm that brought flooding rains and damaging winds. The declaration will free up funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to government entities and some private nonprofits for up to 75 percent of the eligible costs of approved projects. New Hampshire Electric Cooperative incurred nearly $4 million in costs to restore power after the storm, and it can seek reimbursement from FEMA for 75 percent of most of those costs.
